Deeper
Still is not in the business of telling people what they need. Deeper Still encourages
people to ask God for their dreams - their desires, then comes alongside them
and provides a safe, nurturing environment from which that desire, that dream,
can grow.
As followers of Jesus, we believe there is a hidden treasure in all of creation waiting to be called forth by its creator! In 2002, this poem was given to one of the Deeper Still Ministries founders:
Look Closely, You'll See Me ©2002
Their eyes
were so sad, they were broken and dying
I felt my heart tear and I asked the
Lord, crying:
"Is there no hope for them?
No cure for their pain?
Does Jesus not love them? Did He die in vain"?
But
my Father smiled gently
And dried off my tears
"Oh Julie", He
said, "I've been with them for years!
Look
closely you'll see me,
I'm hidden away
By the worry, the burden
The guilt
of each day.
But I'm there, and I love them
So
don't pass them by.
It will take time to see me,
But you will if you try.
They
were made in My image,
By the works of My hands.
Just lead them back to
me
And I'll heal their lands."
So,
I stopped, and I lived there
And soon learned their ways.
I'm humbled and
awestruck
And yes, quite amazed!
For deep
in the midst of the pain
And the strife
Was a hope that was waiting
For
the Giver of Life
Now, He's not only present,
He's
centre & strong!
And in God's Kairos time "!
It doesn't take long.
The
Creator of Heaven, of earth,
And of sea
Is looking for workers
Like you
and like me.
To pause and take heed
That
amidst the worst cases
Is the Image of God
Deeply carved in their faces
He'll
heal them, and love them
And set them all free.
He's waiting to hear
Here I am Lord, send me!
